Answers about reports and the auction map.
Reports
How long does a title search take?
A report for a property on the auction calendar is often ready already. A new search usually takes from a few hours to a day, longer when a county's records have to be read page by page. We email you when it is ready.
What does it mean when a source was not read?
The site was down, blocked us, or needs a login we do not have. The report says so on its first line and names the account or case number to check yourself.
Why is an item marked to check?
The records show the item but cannot settle whether it is still open or tied to this property, for example a lien against an owner with a common name. Read the linked document before you rely on it.
Is a report the same as title insurance?
No. A report is a search of public records on one date. Title insurance is a policy from an insurer that covers losses from title defects. If you buy, a title company or attorney will still examine title for the closing.
Which counties are covered?
Reports are built in 37 Florida counties so far, listed on the Counties page. For any other Florida property, search the address and we will run it.
Does it cost anything?
No. Reports on TitleClue are free.
Auction map
Where do sale dates and cancellations come from?
From the county auction sites, collected every night by fclosure, which provides the map. A sale cancelled during the day shows up the next morning.
What is the estimated value?
A value for the property from public and market data. It is a starting point for your own valuation, not an appraisal.
